FYI for anyone in georgia, there’s a new law in for HOAs effective as of july 1 that’s supposed to protect residents now.

most posts i’ve seen here and elsewhere are from homeowners (i think). does anyone have advice for dealing with hoas as a renter in a single family community?

To whoever was asking about Duluth, I'm near there! And to the post warning about the board pres, you are 100% right. Ours is currently driving around our subdivision with a literal ruler measuring grass height. Absolute nightmare.

To whoever decided HOAs should be a thing..

Just since when did we decide that it’s a good idea to put some people in charge to yell at us for doing what we want in our house. Why do I have to ask “permission” for mini solar lights along MY driveway, tent in MY backyard?

Got a $50 fine today because my trash can was visible at 6pm on pickup day... sick 😡 It was TWO HOURS after the truck came.

Everyone complaining about their boards makes me laugh. My sister lived in a neighborhood with no HOA down in Florida and someone kept a rooster in their backyard. So it goes both ways!

Just a heads up for anyone posting, do NOT put your exact street or real name on here. My board president searches social media looking for people complaining so he can fine them.

Okay so our HOA has now sent me two letters over a flowerpot on my own porch. Meanwhile the retention pond out here has been green since April but I guess thats fine

Our board is voting on switching to a new third-party management company next month. For anyone who has dealt with these big corporate management groups, are they all terrible or are some actually decent?
